Online Keyboard Test
Test every key on your keyboard for stuck keys, dead keys, and ghosting. Press keys and watch them light up on a live on-screen keyboard, free and with no download.
Scroll sideways to see every key on smaller screens.
Check every key before it becomes a problem
Run a full sweep of your keyboard to catch stuck keys, dead keys, and rollover limits before they show up in the middle of typing or a match.
Why Use This Keyboard Test?
Full Key Coverage
Every key on a standard keyboard is mapped by its physical code, so the on-screen layout matches your keyboard even if the printed characters differ.
Rollover & Ghosting Check
Hold several keys together and watch the live counter to see how many your keyboard can register at the same time.
Instant Visual Feedback
Keys light up the moment they are pressed and stay marked once tested, so you always know your progress.
Nothing Leaves Your Browser
All key detection happens locally in JavaScript. No keystrokes are logged or sent anywhere.
How this Online Keyboard Test works
This keyboard test uses your browser's keyboard events to check every key on a standard keyboard, one press at a time. Each key on the screen matches a physical key using its key code, not the printed letter, so the layout stays accurate even if your operating system uses a different keyboard language. Press any key and it lights up straight away; keep it held down and the counter at the top shows how many keys you have pressed at once.
That "keys held at once" number is the real point of this test. A keyboard with poor rollover cannot register certain key combinations when several are pressed together, a limitation known as ghosting. Try holding down a common gaming combination, such as W, A, and Space, or Shift and a few letter keys, and watch whether every key you are pressing actually lights up. If one stays gray while your finger is still on it, that key is not registering in that combination, which points to a rollover limit or a wiring issue in the keyboard.
Once a key has registered a press, it stays marked so you can see your full test progress at a glance, and the counter at the top tracks how many of the keys you have covered. Reset the test at any time to start over, for example after testing a different keyboard, and use the result to decide whether a keyboard needs cleaning, repair, or replacement before it becomes a problem during typing or gaming.
