Mouse Button Tester
Test every mouse button, the scroll wheel, and double-click timing to check for chatter, misclicks, or a failing mouse. Free, no download required.

Find a failing mouse before it costs you a match
Click every button, scroll the wheel, and check the exact time between clicks to catch chatter, a stuck button, or a dead scroll wheel before they cause a misclick.
Why Use This Mouse Tester?
Every Button Covered
Left, right, middle, and side buttons are each tracked with their own counter, so a single quiet button is easy to spot.
Scroll Wheel Check
Scroll up and down inside the test area to confirm both directions register cleanly, without skips or double steps.
Chatter Detection
Every click interval is measured in milliseconds, so an unwanted double-click from a worn switch stands out immediately.
Nothing Leaves Your Browser
Click and scroll data stays on the page and updates your counters instantly. Nothing is logged or sent anywhere.
How this Mouse Button Tester works
This mouse tester listens to your browser's mouse events to check each button, the scroll wheel, and the timing between clicks, all in one place. Click inside the test area with your left, right, or middle button, or with a side button if your mouse has one, and the matching button on screen lights up and its counter goes up. Scroll up or down inside the same area and the wheel counters move with it, so you can confirm the wheel reads both directions cleanly.
Double-click timing is where most mouse problems actually show up. Every time you click the same button twice, the tool measures the gap between the two clicks in milliseconds and adds it to a short history list. A real double-click from a person almost never lands under about 80 milliseconds. When a gap that short shows up on its own, without you trying to double-click, it usually means the switch inside that button is wearing out and firing extra clicks by itself, a fault commonly called switch chatter.
Right-click is tested the same way as any other button, and the test area blocks the normal right-click menu so the click registers instead of opening a browser menu. Everything is calculated on the page as you click; no click data is saved or sent anywhere. Reset the counters whenever you want to start a clean run, for example after testing a second mouse for comparison.
How to use this Mouse Button Tester
Click inside the test area
Click with each button — left, right, middle, and any side buttons — and watch it light up with a running count.
Scroll the wheel
Scroll up and down inside the test area to confirm both scroll directions are read correctly.
Watch the click interval
Check the gap between clicks in milliseconds. A very short, unintended gap can point to switch chatter.
