How this Minecraft Text Generator works

Build color codes, hex colors and gradients

Choose one of the 16 Minecraft colors, a custom hex color or a gradient between two colors, then add bold, italic, underline, strikethrough or obfuscated formatting. The live preview shows the result on a dark or light background. For gradients, every letter gets its own hex color.

What is a Minecraft text generator?
It is a tool that turns plain text into Minecraft-ready text. This one does two things: it creates color codes, hex colors and gradients (with a live preview) for chat, MOTDs, signs and plugins, and it converts text into Minecraft-style fonts such as the Enchanting Table alphabet, Fraktur and bubble text.
How do Minecraft color codes work?
A color code is a symbol (& or §) followed by one character. For example &6 is gold, &c is red and &a is green. Formatting codes follow the color: &l is bold, &o italic, &n underline, &m strikethrough and &k obfuscated. Because a color code resets formatting, always put the color first, which is how this generator builds its output.
Which output format should I use?

Do hex colors and gradient text work in Minecraft?
Yes, in Minecraft Java 1.16 and newer. Gradients are built by giving each letter its own hex color, so longer text produces a longer code. Bedrock Edition does not support custom hex colors in the same way, so stick to the 16 standard colors there.
