This fantasy nomenclature engine generates authentic Dungeons & Dragons character names by combining linguistic patterns documented across official sourcebooks, adventure modules, and established lore. The database encompasses eleven playable races—Human, Elf, Dwarf, Halfling, Dragonborn, Gnome, Half-Elf, Half-Orc, Tiefling, Orc, and Tabaxi—each with culturally appropriate naming conventions.

Each race maintains separate first name pools for male, female, and gender-neutral options, totaling over 400 unique base names. The algorithm combines selected first names with race-specific surnames following proper linguistic patterns—melodic elvish compounds, sturdy dwarven clan names, or exotic dragonborn lineage titles. Optional epithets append heroic descriptors like "the Brave" or "the Shadowwalker" for added character depth.

Batch generation produces twelve names simultaneously, facilitating rapid NPC creation for dungeon masters or character brainstorming for players. The edit-in-place feature allows tweaking generated names before copying. Applications span tabletop RPG character creation, fantasy novel writing, video game avatar naming, and worldbuilding exercises. All generation occurs client-side, enabling offline use once the page loads.
