How to Add Audio to Google Slides

To add audio to Google Slides, you will first upload the file to Google Drive.

Open Google Drive and log in to your account. After that, click on the New button.

Now, select the “File upload” option and choose the audio file you want to add on Google Slides.

After uploading the audio file to Google Drive, let’s now see the steps to add it to Google Slide.

Visit the Google Slides presentation where you want to add the music. After that, from the Insert menu, select the Audio option, as shown in the screenshot below.

As soon as you select the Audio option, the browser will prompt you to select the audio file from Google Drive.

You have to choose the audio file (MP3 or WAV format) from your drive, files/folders shared with you, and recently accessed files in the above dialog box.

Apart from that, you can also search by file name. For that, type in search terms in the search bar.

After locating your audio file, choose it and click on the Select button. Voila! Google Slides will then insert the audio file in your presentation below.

Google Slides adds your audio with a speak icon and mini-player with the options to play, pause, and mute the file. Apart from that, you can also adjust the playback speed from the three-dots menu of the mini player.

Let’s now see the audio format options. Select the added audio, and on the left side, you will find the Format options, as shown in the screenshot below.

You can choose to either play the audio on click or automatically from these format options. Additionally, you can also adjust the volume while presenting.

There is also an option to hide the audio icon while presenting, loop audio, and stop the playback when you change the slide.

How to Add Spotify Music to Google Slides

Open Spotify web player and hover over any track to see the three dots below.

Now, click on this three-dot menu, and select the Copy Song Link option from the Share submenu, as shown in the screenshot below.

Open your Google Slides presentation and select any text. After that, right-click on the selected text and choose the “Link” option.

Now, copy-paste the Spotify audio track link. That’s all there is to do to add Spotify tracks to Google Slides.

How to Embed YouTube Video to Google Slides

Let’s now see how you can embed a YouTube video to Google Slides.

Open the Google Slides presentation where you want to embed the YouTube video. Now, from the Insert menu, choose the Video option, as shown below.

After selecting the Video option, Google Slides will open a dialog box to search for YouTube videos that you can embed in your presentation.

You can also embed a video by pasting its URL in the “By URL” tab. Additionally, you can also add videos from your Google Drive.

Please search for a YouTube video and select it from the results. After choosing the video to embed, click on the Select button.

Congrats! Your YouTube video is now embedded in your presentation. From the “Format Options,” you can choose to play the video automatically or manually.
