Comment fonctionne Convertisseur JPG en PDF

Pick your photos and the tool reads each one straight from your device. A JPG is already a compressed block of data, so the converter can hand those bytes to the PDF writer untouched. That is what the "Keep the original" quality setting does, and it is why the pictures inside the document look exactly like the ones on your camera roll.

Choose High or Smaller file and each image takes a different path. The photo is decoded, drawn onto a canvas at full size, then saved again as a JPG at the quality you picked. That extra step also fixes a common annoyance: phone cameras usually store a photo one way round and attach a rotation flag for the viewer to apply, and PDF readers ignore that flag. Redrawing the picture bakes the correct rotation in, so nothing arrives sideways.

Next comes the page. "Fit to image" gives every photo a page matching its own dimensions, so nothing is cropped or padded. Pick A4, Letter, Legal, A3, or A5 instead and each image is scaled down until it fits inside the margin you chose, then centred on the sheet. Orientation either follows the image or stays locked to portrait or landscape.

Pages are written in the order shown in the list, so move images around before you convert. The finished file is assembled in memory and passed to your browser as a download, which means no upload, no queue, and no copy left on a server.

Questions fréquentes

Will converting a JPG to PDF reduce the image quality?
Only if you ask it to. Set the quality to Keep the original and your JPG and PNG files go into the PDF byte for byte, so nothing is re-compressed. High and Smaller file re-save each photo, which trades a little detail for a lighter document.
Can I combine several JPG files into one PDF?
Yes, and that is the normal case here. Add as many images as you need, up to 50 at a time, and each one becomes a page in a single PDF. There is no separate merge step.
How do I change the page order?
Every image in the list has an up and a down arrow. Move a page and the number beside it updates straight away, so the list always matches what the PDF will look like. Nothing is converted until you press the button, so reorder as much as you like.
Why do my phone photos come out sideways in other converters?
Phone cameras often save the picture in one orientation and add a rotation flag for viewers to apply. PDF readers ignore that flag. Choosing High or Smaller file redraws each photo with the rotation already applied, which is why it comes out the right way up here.
Is there a limit on file size or the number of images?
Up to 50 images per PDF, with each file under 25 MB. Those limits exist because the work happens in your browser tab, and a few hundred large photos would exhaust the memory the tab is allowed to use.
Are my photos uploaded to a server?
No. The images are read from your device, the PDF is assembled in your browser, and the download comes from memory. Nothing leaves your computer or phone, which matters when you are converting ID scans, receipts, or medical paperwork.
Should I choose A4 or fit to image?
Choose A4 or US Letter when the PDF will be printed or attached to a form, since every page then comes out the same size. Choose fit to image for screenshots, artwork, or comics, where a fixed page would add white bars around the picture.
Can I convert PNG, WebP, or HEIC files as well?
PNG, WebP, GIF, and BMP all work. HEIC, the format newer iPhones use by default, cannot be decoded by most browsers. Share or export those photos as JPG first, or switch your camera to Most Compatible in the iPhone camera settings.
Why is the PDF bigger than the images I started with?
A PDF adds its own structure around each image, and with Keep the original the picture data is copied in full. If the size matters more than fine detail, switch the quality to Smaller file, which usually cuts the result by half or more.
Does this work on a phone or tablet?
Yes. Tap the select button and pick photos from your camera roll the same way you would attach them to a message. The controls are sized for touch, and the finished PDF saves to your device through the normal download prompt.
Can I search or copy the text in a scanned page after converting?
No. A photo of a page stays a photo inside the PDF, so the words are pixels rather than characters. Making that text selectable needs optical character recognition, which this converter does not perform.
